We’ve been taught to fear change and to fear the unknown. In this blog I’ll be sharing my experience, helping you shine a light on what can change and how. Even by bringing this topic to your attention starts to get the ball rolling as awareness is the first step towards change, so you can feel more freedom and joy in your life.
Conditioning
You’ve probably already noticed in films, books, adverts, social media there is a subtle slant towards this narrative of fearing change and the unknown. From years of conditioning unfortunately it can create a feeling of mild anxiety and fuel any feelings of self doubt, which means it’s influencing your life to some degree, but it doesn’t have to.
Steadiness
Getting to the other root causes/origins is pretty straight forward. In the 1:1 sessions with clients we can transform this pattern into a feeling of steadiness (that comes from within) connecting to your Self, your inner power and confidence is part of this too, so you begin to experience more trust.
Notice the Nudges
At a higher level your soul is always wanting to grow, overcome limiting beliefs, thoughts and behaviours and experience new levels of being (living your life). Your soul will always be nudging and encouraging you to explore more facets of you, pushing you to stretch yourself. Not in a stressful way of course, in a curious, playful and creative way.
Unnecessary pain
We often resist change, we hold on with white knuckles hoping that we don’t have to go too far outside of the comfort zone. I’ve noticed over the years of working with clients and my own journey is that it can cause pain to resist the changes, physical pain in the body, emotional disruption and mental negative inner dialogue.
Wake Up Call
You may have noticed too that when you keep getting nudged to make changes, explore the unknown or take what seems like a risk and you don’t end up changing anything (usually because the beliefs etc are fuelling the fear emotion), you’re given a bit of a shove by circumstances in life, a bit of a ‘wake up call’ so to speak. But it really doesn’t have to get to that stage at all. It’s so much easier and enjoyable to just transform the ‘stuff’ that keeps on surfacing, that way you’ll have so much more time and energy to enjoy yourself!
Solution
When you transform the limiting beliefs, thoughts and emotions/behaviours ( the inner landscape) it changes how the world shows up around you. From this new perspective and beautiful clarity you can not only embrace change but create change willingly...joyfully! You can jump in at the deep end and know you’re held and supported by life in a myriad of ways. Taking a quantum leap in your evolution at the same time.
Assistance
I invite you to simply decide to notice daily if there is any fear around change or the unknown. Just observe it knowing it’s not who you are, it’s not in your original design which means it can be transformed. It could all sound a bit fanciful but when you experience it first-hand it feels so freeing, so liberating.
